The Workers’ Advocate Supplement (1985-1993) was a complement to the Workers’ Advocate (1969-1993), national journal of the Marxist-Leninist Party, USA. The Supplement not only carried lengthy theoretical articles, background material, reprints from revolutionary organizations of other countries, and correspondence, but also many articles and leaflets on current political events that did not, for lack of space or other reasons, make it into the regular issues of the Workers’ Advocate.
Among other things, the Supplement contains a good deal of material on the anti-apartheid movement, the clinic defense movement, the workers’ movement in Nicaragua, the movement against the Gulf War, the workplace struggle including the role of the labor bureaucrats, the history of the communist movement, and the controversies in the world anti-revisionist movement of that time.
The Supplement also carried some inner-MLP controversies, such as the “literary debate” and the discussion over the speech “The technical and cultural basis for workers’ socialism in the modern world”, but much more of the inner-party discussion appeared in the Internal Bulletin (starting with IB #51, Nov. 27, 1987, it was called the Information Bulletin).
